Use Attack Library and attack templates

Attack Library stores reusable attack templates, also called presets. A template defines the attack scenario and its settings. When you are ready to run it, the campaign launcher lets you choose recipients, review training, and set a schedule.

Sign in as an Admin or Manager to create and manage templates. See workspace roles. If Attack Library is not available in your navigation, contact Jericho Support to confirm availability for your organization.

  1. Open Attack Library in the navigation.
  2. Choose a tab:
    • Jericho contains shared templates supplied by Jericho Security. Their attack settings are read-only.
    • Team contains your organization’s templates, which your Admins and Managers can maintain.
  3. Use the search and type filters to narrow the list. You can sort by Name or Created At.
  4. Review the scenario details and Training status, then click the template name to open it.

The details shown depend on the campaign type. They can include pretexts, the attacker, a page that asks recipients to enter information, and follow-up training.

  1. In Attack Library, click New Attack Template.
  2. Enter a descriptive Name that your team can find again, such as Quarterly account verification.
  3. Select the campaign type and complete the scenario settings shown. Depending on the type, these include the message-generation approach, pretexts, sender or attacker, message content, and landing pages.
  4. Configure follow-up training in the template. If training is required, enable it and select the available courses.
  5. Click Save. Resolve any validation messages, then review the saved template and available message previews.
  6. Return to Attack Library and confirm that the template appears under Team.

Saving a template does not launch a campaign. Use New campaign when you are ready to select recipients and schedule a run.

If the preview says Add employees to get started, add appropriately configured employees in People & Groups, then return to the template. Generated previews can take time to appear. Some shared templates offer Generate to produce previews; this does not make their attack settings editable.

  1. Open New campaign.
  2. Under Start from an attack template, choose Team or Jericho in the Attack template filter.
  3. Find the template, open its details, and click Select.
  4. Follow Use the campaign launcher to review settings, choose recipients, preview, and launch.

For a one-time campaign, launcher changes apply to that campaign rather than updating the reusable template. To change the template for future use, edit it in Attack Library.

  1. Open Attack Library, then Team.
  2. Click the template name.
  3. Review any notice listing active recurring campaigns that use the template.
  4. Update the settings and click Save.
  5. Review the updated template and its previews before using it again.

Shared Jericho templates cannot be edited or deleted by your organization. Create a new Team template when you need your own configurable scenario.

  1. Open Attack Library, then Team.
  2. Find the template and click its trash icon under Actions.
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Deletion is blocked while the template is used by active recurring campaigns. Review those campaigns before trying again; deleting a template is not a way to stop a campaign. Existing one-time campaigns are not deleted when their source template is removed.
